Advisory hours

How Advisory Hour and regional offices are booked, what to bring, and what happens after.

What an advisory hour is

An advisory hour is one booked, focused hour with a Business Now adviser on one blocker. Not a retainer, not a sales pitch, and not a general chat about the business. You arrive with the problem in one sentence and a checklist in progress, and you leave with decisions made and a written follow-up note the same day.

The longer, structured version is the Advisory Hour toolkit tile. This page covers the practical side, booking, preparing, and what happens after.

How to book

We confirm by email only, usually within one working day. Sandton handles multi-tile reviews. The regional offices each lean towards a specialty, export in Durban, brand and digital in Cape Town and Rosebank, people and first hires in Pretoria, ops in Midrand, tax calendars in Centurion, and finance cadence in Stellenbosch.

How to prepare

Fill in the advisory brief form and print or photograph the advisory prep card. Bring the latest version of whatever checklist you are running, even if half of it is blank. An honest half-done list is more useful to us than a neat one that hides the hard part.

If you arrive without a checklist, that is fine, but tell us in the booking email. We will spend the first twenty minutes building one with you and protect the rest of the hour for decisions.

After the hour

You get a short written note by email, normally the same afternoon. It lists what was decided, who owns each step, and the date we agreed to check in. Reply on that same thread with questions so the history stays in one place. If the work needs a second hour or a hand-off to another office, the note says so plainly.

Need to move a booking? Email at least one working day ahead. Things happen, we understand that, a quick note just lets someone else use the slot.
